beach!

i'm only blogging because i should be writing a paper right now and the best part is...i have nothing to say. i know, i know...its been DAYS since i posted anything. still no computer. still no ipod.

yesterday i decided to take advantage of 80 degree weather so i made some broccoli salad, and packed some strawberries and grapes into a cooler bag and drove to Rodeo Beach in the marin headlands. (derek was right..it is called rodeo). i had only been there once when "he who shall not be named" and i took a city bus over the golden gate bridge, through the headlands and we ended up there. it was like a mini tour, but for $1.25.

after figuring out how to go "left" after you get off the GG-bridge (i swear...you cannot take left turns ANYWHERE in this city) i made it to the beach! it was awesome, not a lot of people but for some reason A LOT of lesbians! is rodeo beach the lesbo beach? anyways, the sand was really dark and consequently really hot. the sun was nice and warm but there was also a cool breeze so i never got too hot. and it was really nice to smell the ocean. i think that is the weirdest thing about SF...its practically surrounded by water and you can't smell the ocean anywhere.

i layed on the beach from noonish til four-ish. luckily i spf'd and only a little bit on my back is red...the place where i can't reach too good! on the way home, there is the most amazing view. you come around one of the bends and RIGHT THERE is part of the GG-bridge. its SO awesome. i jumped out of my car and looked around.

i was fully prepared to go back to the beach several times this week, but apparently its not going to be 80 again. sadness.
