wonders never cease...

this weekend i actually came out of my house on saturday to attend willo's birthday party. i'm really glad i did! i had a great time and really enjoyed meeting some new people, including super-cutey rob and easter-island-head stig, willo's hot bro, max and darren. (uh. i don't have a nickname for him. i already occupy the "heavy metal prefix" with heavy metal hez...can he be heavy metal darren?) i finally had a chance to talk with lynne, which i haven't really before. she's really swesome. my teutonic roots came out and i did shots of jaeger while everyone had tequilla (its jaeger everytime against tequilla!) needless to say, sunday i didn't do anything. lots of movie watching and thai food eating. here's what i watched:

Barcelona (again)
Swingers (again)
Dr. T and the Women - i wouldn't say good, but interesting..i didn't realize it was a bob altman flick.
The Secret Lives of Dentists - campbell scott needs to not ever have a mustache.
..and some other stuff because i AM a tivo-ho and had hours of Film School, Frehsman Diaries and Blow Out to catch up on.

this weekend, i think i fgured out why i like these reality shows so much. i am a HUGE fan of documentaries and that's what the above shows are really like. i'm not so much a Survivor fan as i am a Big Brother fan. that said, at the party, rob asked me what was a good doc that i had seen recently and i said Dogtown/Z-Boys (the doc not the flick) and i think i have to take back my answer. i think Spellbound was the best doc i've seen ever, but that wasn't lately. and as lame as this sounds, i really liked the doc called 9/11 its by these two french brothers Jules and Gedeon Naudet. at the time, they were making a doc on firemen. they had been casing a fireman bootcamp for a rookie to follow on his first year and, in conjunction with their american fireman friend (who was assigned to ladder 1 in NYC) they picked a kid and got him assigned to ladder 1, which was the closest firehouse to the world trade center. and yup, the kid was assigned to ladder one the summer before 9/11 and then bam! they were no longer making a film about a rookie, they were making a film about the WT. its just interesting.

anyways, i am at the computer lab adn they are about to start a class so i have to leave. sadness! cross all fingers taht my computer FINALLY ships this week!

Have you heard any of Jim Breuer's show on Sirius radio? Talk about hair-metal-larious!

When your new computer arrives, check out the interview with Vince Neil and Breuer's appearance on the Stern Show. Classic.

P.S. And don't forget you owe me some rock, Bustah.
