Can I Finally Be Having Good Luck?

A few years ago I bought my car off of a coworker who was moving back to Rhode Island. She claimed, that the night before she was to hand it over, she was in the Mission having dinner and someone had keyed the car. There was a 6 foot key gouge all along the passenger side. She put a claim in through her insurance company and I got money to fix it.

But then, a mere few weeks later, I was in Tahoe snowboarding with Misty and we set our boards down to have lunch and when I came back my board was gone. (Why am I the only person in Tahoe who this happens to? Everytime I go I see tons of unlocked boards laying all over the place.) Instead of getting the body work done I bought a new board. Hi, I know my priorities.

Three years later (that's now) my ex-landlady backs into my car with her tailgate down and puts a dash-dot-dash dent on my driver's side. I file a claim and take my car in to Matt's Body Shop, recommended by Willo. I get that crazy ass Mustang rental and then at the end of the week I go to pick up my car for my drive to Tahoe. As they are pulling my car up I still see one of the scratches along the side. Then I see a dent still where the tailgate caught in between my door seam and car and crunched it. I am thinking...did they just paint over it? So I walk over to get a closer look and NO work has been completed. And then...*gasp*...I walk around to the passenger side and they have completely fixed that 3 year old key gouge. OMG. I went back into the office and said, um hi. You fixed the wrong side of my car!

Those poor guys, they were embarrassed and disbelieving. Thinking that they got it right and trying to prove it, they flipped through my file and all the paper work says right side of the car until they get to the original estimate that says left side. They apologized profusely and I tried to appear sympathetc but inside I was all WOOHOO!

Today I brought it back so they can fix the real side and they set me up in a rental again. This week I have a Pontiac Vibe...MUCH better than the Mustang. It's a respectable size in both length and gas tank.

I think when I pick my car up I am going to bring them a box of candy or something. They've been really great, the only thing is that the head guy couldn't help but say that they were gonna try and get it done in three days because its costing them so much money. Thanks guy. Not even my fault.

Sooo... thanks Willo for recommending Matt's!
