Blogworthy
So much has happened in the last weeks and when I have thought to blog about it I just didn't have the energy. Here are some highlights:
Last Friday in November
My night out with Holly at Casanova turned into a punk rock bar tour ending in front of my house in Holly's truck with Alice in Chains blasting on the stereo and us scream singing the lyrics at 2am. When I protested leaving to go in my house, because the music was so good, Holly whisked me away to Oakland and the next thing I knew I was eating a cheeseburger and fries at her house at 3am. Rock! The next day? Ouch.

First week of December
I gots a new phone, yo! So now I can obssessively check my email on the run...because I so need that feature? Whatevs, the thing has wi-fi. Hi, pretty!
First week of December
I totally got that flu virus thing and had to miss Goblin Cock. Damn them! I paid for the ticket already too. It seems that I will never see this band. I also had to forfeit a 5k.
Second week of December
Ben died on the 13th. He had started to decline and Anita and I thought it was best. I left work early to make our 4pm appointment and got home with 30 minutes to spare to spend some time with him. We left for the vet shortly before 4pm. They set us up in a room with him and we spent Ben's last moments talking to him, about him, crying and laughing. The vet came in and administered a sleeping aid and we watched Ben quickly slip into undisturbable slumber. Then the final shot. We wrapped him in a sheet, and then an egyptian burial blanket and stuffed him into a Landsend tote bag (literally) and brought him back home. Earlier in the week Anita had dug a grave at an undisclosed location. We took him there, layed him in, added his collar, sprinkled him with catnip and pretty leaves and alternated taking shots of burbon and sprinkling him with it. We then covered his grave with night Jasmine and a marker. We stood there laughing and crying for a moment and then went home. All of this felt like 5 hours of emotion and we were surprised to see that only one hour had elapsed. I miss you Ben!
Ben in Bed
Third weekend in December
Great night out with Holly with dinner at Blue Plate (I love you pan roasted chicken!) and thento the Argus to see DJ Cadillac. An Oregonian friends' husband, Steven, was in town and after a sewing machine fiasco (long story) I met his friend who was...hi? Doable.
Went to Mai's fabulous holiday party. Tho, was a little freaked out at getting to the place where it was held. Hey, who knew that PH 3 didn't mean Phone 3, but rather Penthouse #3. Dude, why am I on the roof!?! Was backing my way out of the party when LuLu showed up and we talked about eating and making food all.night.long. I always forget how much I like LuLu because I think the last time I (actively) hung out with her was like 3 years ago.

'I met his friend who was...hi? Doable. We went our separate ways after the swap'
meee-owww. i didnt no theyre calling it the swap now. may have to check out a swap meet.
hope he wasnt the type to grab all your hair prodcuts.
Hahaha oops. I meant swap as in "sewing machine swap." I should clarify that paragraph with the far less exciting action of returning a borrowed sewing machine. heh.
sorry about benny ben, lady. :(
it was so great seeing you on saturday, as you might have gathered from my repetitive hug sessions - hi, drunk. ;)
sounds like you've been doing a hell of a lot. sorry to hear about mr. ben. have a great holiday.
hez,

Do you ever have to type in the word verification thingy over and over again because, somehow, you can't tell a V from a W? Yeah, that's me over here.
Sigh. The first time I read about Mr. Ben is his great send off. He was super loved, I can tell. Wishing you lots of good memories and recovery time. R.I.P, Ben. I hardly knew ye.
I've been missing your posts! Glad to see, between Ben and the flu, you still got some time to rock!
And can I say? I also thought 'swap' was the new word for 'doin' it well'. I had to check my birth certificate for a minute there.
word verification: yes. how about when blogger was switching to the google sign in and you'd type a big long comment, sign in the old way, be asked to sign in the new way and then lose your comment. stupid technology.
Hey, speaking of Blogger.com and word verification and stuff... is there any way I can post a profile without actually starting a blog? I ask because I scored a nice screen shot of YouTube sensation "The Little Superstar", and it kills me to post without that photo accompanying my comments.
I'm sorry about your cat too, Heather. You seem more upset about that than forfeiting the $5,000 in First Week of December. You sure did love that little cat.
wow, i'm 3 weeks behind on my blog reading!
Sorry about your kitty. Sounds like you did a good job sending him off.
I had a great time hanging out with you at Mai's party. We should do brunch and stuff.
